Marché aux Fleurs - Ile de la CitéCreated on 05/09/2008 Last updated on 05/12/2008
Description : Flower market, Ile de la Cité, Paris, 75004
Marché aux Fleurs
Ile de la Cité
Place Louis Lépine
A green oasis in the middle of Paris
This is Christophe, the owner of what has become my favourite stall. He's very sweet and takes the time to chat to everyone... even if you know nothing about plants
The French have a tradition of giving flowers, and this is a great place to find gifts when you don't want to give cut flowers that fade so quickly

There ain't much sexy about roses, but the scent of them lacing the warm Spring air feels very old-world Paris
Most Parisians don't have gardens, but they do take their flowers very seriously
Marché aux Fleurs
Metro: Cité
Hours: 8am - 7pm Monday - Saturday
It becomes a bird market on Sundays
8am - 7pm
Place Louis Lépin
Ile de la Cité
75004 Paris
This is a great place for people watching, as locals like to stroll through the market and look at the plants they will never have the space to keep
